Eight Awesome Tips to Make Camping with Babies and Toddlers Easier

As I write this blog I am camping with 4 children... one of them is a baby and another is a toddler! Busy... yes! We are three days into our camping holiday and these days haven't been without their challenges. With a bit of trial and error we have figured out some handy tricks to ensure that the camping experience is pleasant for everyone. Give them a go next time you're camping.

1. NOODLE IT UP - Those pesky guy ropes can be a real hazard for toddlers. Easy fix- just cut up a pool noodle and slip it over.

2. SELF SERVE - Buy one of these clever containers from The Warehouse or the like. Toddlers love using them to get their own drinks (and to fill up containers). They are great for washing hands or filling up bottles too.

3. BUGGY NAPS - Don't be a slave to nap times and spend half your time battling away to get your baby to sleep in a noisy and unfamiliar environment. Instead get out and enjoy nature, get some exercise. It won't do any harm for bubs to nap in the buggy for a few days. You'll get back into your usual routine once you return home.

4. PORTABLE PLAYPEN - You can't babyproof the whole campground! If you have a mobile baby, take the worry out of your holiday by taking the mattress out of the portacot during the day and putting in some toys. When you're busy doing things like cooking (or reading a good mag) pop them in the portacot, you can relax knowing their not venturing away eating leaves or something similar 😀.

5. ZIP LOCK BAGS ARE YOUR FRIEND - When you're at the beach keep your keys and phones clean and dry by keeping them in a zip lock bag. You will find hundreds of other uses for them too.

6. TUBS, TUBS,TUBS - You can never have too many tubs when you are camping. They are great for storing things, transporting things.

They make great camping high chairs too...

7. BATHTIME - The little people can have a blast splashing around in their paddling pool while you are sneakily giving them a wash... everyone's a winner! Don't forget to tip the water out as soon as they are out. They might decide to take another dip later on when nobody's watching.

8. I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE Family bike rides are amazing, even with littlies. Keep the rides short though and remember to take snacks and drinks.

Thanks for reading... I hope these tips will help make camping a little easier for your family. If you have any other good camping tips to add please comment or send me a message!

Love to your little people!❤️
